Central Bank Digital Currency Contest Winners Announced – Jamaica Information Service

In April 2021, Bank of Jamaica invited creatives to submit a suitable name, slogan, logo and representative image for its central bank digital currency (CBDC). We thank those who responded to the call and submitted entries for this competition.

The Bank is pleased to announce the winners of the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) name, slogan and logo contests.

We congratulate Mrs. Ashley Payne, the winner of the CBDC Name Contest and Slogan Contest. Ms. Payne received $350,000 and $250,000 for her respective entries, as well as $25,000 CBDC, for each entry, transferred to her National Commercial Bank digital wallet.

We also congratulate Mr. Gerrard Harvey who won for his participation in the logo segment of the contest. Mr. Harvey received $350,000 and $25,000 CBDC credited to his National Commercial Bank digital wallet.

There was no winner for the image design segment of the contest. Winning entries will be revealed once the relevant registration and copyright processes have been completed. National rollout of Central Bank digital currency remains on schedule for Q1 2022.
